Majestic Sunburst and Assiniboine mountains. I hiked to Nub five times in total to get just one sunrise shot. Again and again, 2 hours before sunrise in dark hiking through the forest and enjoying first rays at amazing Assiniboine.

This to me is the most important photograph I've ever taken. It resides in my heart as the most well built compositionally and it took me 40 seconds to orchestrate. Really all I did was focus and adjust for speed. I was hanging outside the passenger window as we drove the Highlands, shooting continuously into the valley to the left of the frame, when the clouds turned up and rain was stinging my skin going 70kmh.
I didn't get to review for another 22 hours, and that night I slept in the worst weather conditions I'd ever encountered.
My excitement was so uncontainable when I saw this, and I'd never felt so much like I'd captured myself in a single landscape.
