Solar Storms Ignite X-ray "Northern Lights" on Jupiter: Solar storms are triggering X-ray auroras on Jupiter that are about eight times brighter than normal over a large area of the planet and hundreds of times more energetic than Earth's "northern lights," according to a new study using data from our Chandra X-ray Observatory. This result is the first time that Jupiter's auroras have been studied in X-ray light when a giant solar storm arrived at the planet.

These pendant lights have three different components and take months and months to put together. From the bespoke metal frame to the enormous effort that goes into hand dyeing the made up knitted shade in one piece. Thank you @shibori_textiles. You girls are incredible. (The weight of wet rope is astronomical and Pep and Karen have made me promise never to put them through this again 😏). Creating a pattern to fit the frame is all fun and games (no not really!!!). You can easily get lost in the process and wonder if the project will ever see the light of day. But, here they are beautifully hung in the Melbourne Showroom of @ecooutdoor. There are five all up and together they mark the passage of my time in 2015. Thank you Jen of @ecooutdoor for your support and encouragement. Xxx
