Dave James (@thedavejames) has been getting creative with #Triggertrap and #LightPainting. Dave used perspex, some mouldable glue and a length of plumbers tubing to make shapes which he could attach to a torch. Adding coloured gels allows Dave to control the colour of the output, and lets Dave use the torch like a paint brush during a #longexposure. The great thing about light painting shots like this is how little post production is involved, it looks this awesome straight out the camera!

Photograph by @thomaspeschak Curved in like this, the cephalic lobes usher and almost force the plankton into the mouth. This is the classic feeding posture of the reef manta ray. One can clearly see the gill rakers inside the mouth which act as a sieve, scooping up masses of plankton and expelling the water through the gill slits as the manta swims along in the #Hanifaru Marine Reserve, Maldives.
